Query Plus 1st Chapter Critique with Agent Brooks Sherman of The Bent Agency

THIS ITEM IS NOW CLOSED TO BIDS--THANK YOU!
Brooks Sherman represents picture books, fiction for young adult and middle-grade-readers, select literary and commercial adult fiction, and nonfiction in the areas of humor, pop culture, and narrative nonfiction. Brooks is donating a critique on your query and first chapter!
 Here's what he likes:

"I'm seeking projects that balance strong voice with gripping plot lines. Stories that make me laugh earn extra points! My interest in adult fiction runs the gamut from literary to speculative (particularly contemporary fantasy rooted in realistic settings, horror, and magical realism), as well as historical and crime fiction. On the children's side, I'm looking for middle grade fiction of all genres (but particularly fantasy adventure and contemporary), humorous projects from author-illustrators, and young adult fiction of all types except paranormal romance. I would especially love to get my hands on a creepy and/or funny contemporary young adult project."

This item will close on July 17, 2014, at 10:00 PM EST. Any bids placed after that time stamp will not be honored. Once the auction closes and payment from the highest bidder is confirmed, instructions on how to send your pages to Brooks will be emailed to the winner. Since the files will be submitted electronically, this item is open internationally.

Congratulations, sbiggswudel, you have the winning bid! Please watch for an email from Pens for Paws with further instructions on how to confirm and pay your bid.

That was a close one, and I wanted to thank all of you for bidding--wish we had two of Brooks to critique!
